Skye's VBT Surgery @ Simmerath, Germany - March 12th 2018

Her story prior to surgery is here.

Arriving in Simmerath, Germany

We've arrived. The drive here from Dusseldorf airport was a tad hairy, arriving into Germany at 6am then having to combat the freezing conditions, left hand drive and then the Autobahn made the jet lag disappear within seconds :-). But good ol' Google maps got us here safe and sound :-).

But, it is a tad chilly here in Simmerath; only -19 yesterday morning - brrrhh.

It is a beautiful place, very quaint and the people are just delightful. Very ready to assist, and as we're only English speaking we are quite an oddity to them and they are more than ready to try and help us.

There are heaps of foody places, cafes selling beautiful breads and pastries, restaurants including Chinese, Kebabs, a Bistro, a winebar, and about 6km away a Burger King and MacDonalds :-).

The hospital itself is lovely, quite small but impeccably clean and everyone is falling over themselves to help us.
